New Life. New adventures, also New worries

So as most know I am in college already. I love here at Cal Maritime. When I got here I was extremely nervous but once I got acquainted with the girls and well of course most of the guys, this school being 85% guys and living in the coed floor. My classes here are so wonderful. I am taking Ocean Politics, Environmental Law, Macroeconomics, Lib, Spanish, and I am on the crew team. Crew for the people that don't know is the speed rowing team. I am stroke seat. so the seat that controls the speed of the boat and the person everyone has to stay in stroke with. I am also going to run for Environmental Officer. I hope that goes successful.

I live close to frisco so every chance I get I go into the city and wonder the city getting to know the city I want to live in. It is so beautiful and serene My school is actual on the bay since we have the TSGB - Training Ship Golden Bear.

Since this is an academy we were uniforms I finally got my full short khaki, still waiting on my khaki long and my salt and peppers and my blues jacket, and my work uniform[even though I am a global and not an engineer I still need to wear them] but I have learned that after making persistent phone calls and visits and finally talking to the top of the chain person things get done faster. When I lived back at home I used to take advantage of my mom being able to get these kind of things done for me, so I never realized that just like my mom I can be just as tenacious about getting people to do there job [except for att] .

I maybe at an academy but I am still the most colorful person you can find on campus, also the person that speaks her mind fast and loudly. I am hoping by my senior year that I can get the highest rank with out joining the coast guard or the other services here and hoping to be commander of the corp. I have high hopes that I know will be hard to get to but I know I can get to them. This is the challenge I have been waiting for.

The things that you learn here can't be taught anywhere else. It not just the classes its the people. It knowing your shipmate, protecting them, helping them, and never letting them down. Its going through hell week together and having the one thing in common and that is the hatred of khaki haha joking around but it is true. I may want my uniform but that's because I don't want to look like the freshman still wearing o week uniform. So that's all I have time for I will try to update as much as possible.

for those who don't know my school is locate in Vallejo CA. In the bay area the major city close by is San Francisco.

Roommate is a Vegetarian so I have been less meat then I usually eat which wasn't much to begin with.

I am addicted to cookies and Reese cups. I will take people watch if they give me a bag of Reese cups or really good cookies.

and my worries are - rain when we have water practice, falling up the stairs again, falling off my very high bed, all nighters and getting in a fight with the people above us because he loves to tap dance or something while we are studying or trying to sleep, hurting my knee again and most of all getting food poisoning again from the mess deck.

Well My College Fund is non- existant. I wish I had started saving a long time ago, but the thought of going to college wasn't in my mind a few years ago.

I have worked really hard to get into one of the top Maritime Academy's in the west coast unfortunetly it's about $26,000 a year. I am almost there I have applied to every Grant, every Scholarship, every special Fund I knew about.We are two weeks away from driving up and I am short two thousand dollars that is due September second.

So I have decided that I need to start my own business.

Young Women Recognition

I waited till the last minute. I finally found my book and was able to show that I was done. It was such a wonderful meeting. I was so nervous about doing my talk on knowledge that I started to mumble and my talk also ended abruptly with a yea thats it. I also didn't have a lot of time to put up a display so all I had was my laptop showing pictures I have taken for photography.

I graduated!

June13th- YAY I finally did it. I made it all the way, and made everyone cry. Even my teacher cried when he started to talk about me. It felt so good be up there. I was praying the whole time that I wouldnt trip or be my clumsy self. Even though I almost did haha. Thank you everyone who stuck with till the end, and a new beginning!!

Birthday in June!

So yeah I know its been a couple months since I have updated my blog and I have tried to start my photo blog back up but I guess I have been procrastinating it for some reason so . I am going to post a bunch right now about the past couple month and the major events that have gone on in my life. So the first is my birthday, my 18th birthday ...Woah I am legal. HAHA. I had a small little party with family and close friends and people that have been a big part of my life. It was a Fun night received some money for school and Lorenzo made me a wind chime. Later Jaci, Heidi, Jacob, Lorenzo and I went out and caused chaos haha joking. It was a wonderful night .. Thank you all for being there. P.S I wasnt crying I trying to peek at my gift that i was suppose to have covered my eyes for haha

Bio Lab .. peas!

So this week started with not much to do and then the last two days was completely full. I had two lab in two days yesterdays lab was just a fun lab where we got the DNA from a pea.. even though all of us where supposed to know how to do it properly, none of us did and the teacher had to fix it so I could get the pictures so I can finish my end of the year project. It was quiet entertaining, we probably looked like chickens with our heads cut off. here are some pics!

So I realized that ....

Everything in the world is telling me I need to start getting up earlier then 11 am everyday ! I was reading the new era last night and I am procrastinating reading all the articles about going to seminary and waking up early to start each day. Then I realize that it also means having to go to bed early to... seminary is almost over and the summer is here and so I really shouldnt complain about waking up for a couple more days but I also have to get into the habit for CMA which only have morning and noon classes. Boy am I going to need all the breaks to sleep and only sleep , because I will be non-stop studying to keep myself from derailing again !

Prints

So lately I have been thinking of selling prints of my photos... but I am still pessimistic about the idea. My teacher seem to want to kill me every time I point out something wrong with each picture and tell them they aren't good. which I still do just in my head now or I may get kicked out of my class for being a pessimist HAHA. So its going to stay  an idea till I can find people to want to buy them from me and a place to sell them .. I was thinking etsy.com but I am not sure I can sell them on there.

shiny disco balls!

because I am bored ... I say random things and well I am just really random and make people around me uncomfortable so yeah . I thought I would blog this since I haven't updated this in so long!!! I thought I would recount a time when I made a lot of people feel uncomfortable to be around me because of three words that I randomly started singing. I am no dirty but I do like techno and for those that know that a lot of techno can sound just wrong, well I didn't realize it till I said it out loud and had all the guys laughing and the girls looking at me like I am the biggest freak in the world.  This day was like two years ago when I went to LQHS and we had a free period so I took out my ipod and It had died so I thought I would sing something I had stuck in my head to keep myself entertained. It happened to a mix my friend made me called shiny disco balls. Its not a bad song and those are practically the only words it has. I just happened to be in a class that had finished studying the human body and the reproductive system so jokes where still going on and thats what my three words came out to be. So today I was listen to my itune on shuffle and that song came on and I started laughing uncontrollably, it scared my cat that hates me haha . yeah that about it !

Love babies!

So as many may already know , I have a new cousin . She is a little older and getting a lot cuter. I finally got a good picture of Lexi and I . My last picture, I looked like Medusa and my glasses were all crooked . so heres the new picture!

Science is always interesting for me.

So I really only ever go to an actual class once a week and its only one class . So I decided to take Bio. I love biology , considering I am thinking going to major in marine biology. Well to get on with what I am trying to get at is something interesting always happens. The class I am taking is more like whatever you really want to learn in bio instead of the strict textbook class, so one of the kids in my class is interested in nature and wildlife and he recommended pulling apart an owl pellet [you know the things you pull apart in the third grade] .It was quite fun except I got a contorted one and when I started to pull it apart it was nothing but bones and very little fur but it was big! When I finally got through half of it I had got many bones varying from really little to quite big, but the most interesting was that I found four little mouse or rat skulls there might of been more but while I was going through it I broke a lot of bones. The other students ended up with either a bird , another full mouse and a head less animal which still can't be identified yet. So thats my story of my science class.

Acceptance letter from San Marco

So today after I got back from San Diego [ a trip not for fun but just to retrieve a transcript ] I did my usually routine of say hi to Bo then checking the mail and well something interesting came in the mail well it was a small envelope from Cal State San Marcos, as soon as I saw it I was sure that I knew what it was going to say that I didn't get in . Well I was dead wrong it was a small letter say I had been accepted . Surely I am trying my hardest to go to Cal Maritime Academy but it is always nice to have a second choice. Now all I am really waiting for is San Luis Obispo and I am good.  

New Camera Lens

I know this is kind of late but as an insomniac I a starting to run out of things to do at night that doesn't require a lot of noise for me [which is impossible, I'm to clumsy and trip over everything]So I spend my time at night either reading or find something entertaining on the computer [mainly movies off of netflix , computer is still new and I refuse to put anything on it ] .

 So the big news is that I think it was last week on Tuesday or Wednesday , that my mom went to go exchange her video camera at Circuit City when she came across camera lens for my type of camera , and for awhile I have been bugging my mom to get me a new lens [since she has dropped my camera several times and the lens that was on the camera wasn't allowing my to focus and zoom in right ] and thats when she 

called me and asked what kind of lens I have on the camera now and I told her , which made me suspicious of what she was really up to and when she came home she handed me the bag and told me that it was my early birthday present and for those who don't know my birthday is in June . So since the day I got the lens I have not let the camera out of my sight for the fear of something happening to it would give me terrible grief and well boredom since I wouldn't know what to do with out a camera . 

San Diego Trip

So through the chaos of my whole life, my mom and I still find time to head down to San Diego and just find interesting things to do while we are there .  This trip we decided to go see the full size replica of the Nina [ Columbus's ship] . My mom like to think she knows where everything is , so she didn't bother taking directions , causing us to driving around the city for quite a while. Until she decided to stop at Harbor Police Station and ask them where it was . When we got there the suspense  that has been built up from driving all day quickly dispersed at the site of the smallest ship at the dock . Even though it was quite cool to see it and be able to board the ship to see the , well just the deck since it was really small and the crew used to bottom of the ship for sleeping quarters . It was interesting to hear that Columbus's crew slept on the deck for three months and used the bottom for cargo . It was about 93 feet and there was about 36 people in Columbus's crew. The replica was fully functional they try to sail it as much as they can. The ship is in San Diego till Feb. 16th . 

Update on my so called busy life!

So lately I haven't been to interested on updating people on what's going on in my life, even though some amazing things have been happening and happened . Hmmm where to start .... Lets start with christmas , which went pretty well this year, I got a macbook for "college" I really love it ....even though it didn't work well when I first got it . I got it services and its working well right now .... lets hope that it stays that way .

I got some other things for christmas just random item like a book, markers, headphones [I get a pair every year], candy and other things. My I spent christmas eve with my mom and our family and on christmas day my dad came and picked me to spend it with his family. Sadly I only spent a couple days there . I got anxious around all the kids in the house and I didn't want to hurt any of them if they got on the wrong side of me , I will be back soon to spend more time with them, just not during a time they get new toys and are extremely excited that santa came.

 The beginning of January was pretty slow I finished up some college app. and did homework .

then on January 22 my mom and I went to have a family home evening with my aunt and her family and during the "lesson" [games] she told us that she was have co

ntractions all day [she was pregnant] and that the baby might be coming in a day or so . The next day I was woken up to go babysit keegan [her son] while my mom and her husband took her to the hospital. We waited till I got the text around five that the baby was born and healthy .. it was also one of my cousins birthday so most of my family was at my other uncles house to celebrate my cousins birthday . 

The baby is name Alexis Grace Roberts . She was 7 pounds and 3 ounces . 

  The very next day after visiting with Monica and her new baby , I went to check the mail [at night so I couldnt see] and inside I felt a very big envolop inside , my heart was racing already so i quickaly grabbed the whole pile and ran towards the house and as soon as i got to the light I got the envolop that was addressed to me from Cal Maritime and on the corner to the envolop was a stamp that said congratulations I was scream to anyone that would pay attention at teh time of my akward actions I ran up and down the house yelling I got in and  called anyone that would answer the phone and screamed I got in and this went on for a while I also flooded all of myspace and fa

cebook with i got accepted , and I hadnt even opened the envolop yet, till i was finially calm enough to sit still to open and read its contents . Surely enough it was an acceptance letter and information to make things final . This had been the school of my dreams and it came true ....Thank you to all those who helped me in making it this far ..I may not be done asking for help but I wouldnt have even gotten this far with out my family and friends
